Elizabeth was born in 1813 In Kettleshumle, Cheshire, England. She was the daughter of Henry Pearson and Sarah Unknown. She was baptized on 7 Feb 1813 in Taxall, Cheshire, England. On 23 Jun 1838 she married John James Hollingshead. They settled in Cheshire where they had 6 children, 3 daughters and 3 sons. They lived in either Cheshire or Lancashire throughout their lives. It was in Rainow, Cheshire, England she passed away in Apr 1889. It is unknown if she was buried or cremated. Her will was probated on 19 Feb 1890.
On the 1851 census there is an entry for a Catherine Pearson, age 17, shown as "wife's daughter". This indicates Elizabeth had a child, possibly out of wedlock in about 1834. There is also a christening record for her, dated 23 Feb 1834 at Macclesfield St. Michael, Cheshire, England with mother as Elizabeth Pearson. No father listed.
