Biography

Susan was born about 1838. She is the daughter of Nathan Pearson.

In 1860, S.A, 12, was living in Lexington, Henderson, TN with her parents, Nathan, 48, and Mary, 42. Also in the household were J.C, 21, M.P, 19, J.E, 16, M.M, 8, Wm S, 7, and Bud, 2 mo. She was born in TN.^[1]

In 1870, Susan A.J. Scott, 22, was living in Lexington, Henderson, TN, with her presumed husband, Andy, 30, and Joseph Scott, 22. Andy was a farmer with a personal estate of $150. Joseph was working on the farm.^[2]

In 1880, Susan A., 28, and A.J, Scott, 38. were living in Henderson, TN with her widowed father, Nathan, 67. Also in the household were John C, 40, William S, 24, N.A.P, 29, and Susan’s son V.H, 4. All the males in the family were farming. Susan was the only female and she was keeping house.^[3]
