Yesterday we witnessed a mournful procession, a large number of the principal townspeople taking part, in the conveyance of the remains of the late Mr. F. W. He arrived at Port Gregory about thirty years ago, under the auspices of the old Geraldine Mining Company, specially entrusted with the erection of the smelting works at the mine - a mission which it is well known he fulfilled to the satisfaction of all concerned. Some years afterwards, on the opening up of the Greenough Flats for agricultural purposes, he settled with his family in that neighbourhood, and soon by patient industry and determination he became one of the most successful husbandmen the Flats have ever had the honor to claim as a settler.
