"Peter Augustus Jay son of Peter A. Jay was married to Miss Josephine Pearson youngest daughter of the late Joseph Pearson of Brentwood near Washington D.C. on the 13th Jan. 1848 by Rev. Mr. Pyne."[1]
"Augustus Jay son of P. A. Jay and Josephine Pearson was born in Washington City D.C. 17th Oct. 1850."[1]
"Josephine wife of P. A. Jay died at the house of Mrs. Banyer in N. York on the 3rd Jan. 1852 & was buried at Rye."[1]
