When John Perley Pearson was born on October 23, 1800, in Newburyport, Massachusetts, his father, Jonathan, was 46 and his mother, Eunice, was 38.^[1][2] He married Hannah Pillsbury and they had one son together.^[3][4] He then married Sophronia Middleton on March 18, 1872, in Newburyport, Massachusetts.^[5] He died on January 27, 1876, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 75 years.^[6]
