Charles Pearson KCMG CB is Notable.

Charles Pearson was born at Thorne Coffin, Brympton in Somerset in July 1834, the son of Commander Charles Pearson RN and his wife, Susan. [1] Educated first at King's School, Bruton, [2] by 1851 he was studying at Burney's Academy in Gosport, Hampshire. [3] On the 23rd November 1852 he bought into the Army as an Ensign in the 99th Regiment of Foot, but transferred to the 31st the following year in which regiment he served as Lieutenant at the Siege of Sevastopol in the Crimea. [2]

Charles was a Major in the 3rd Regiment by the time that he married Marian Catherine Mundy daughter of Sir Robert Mundy and his wife Isabella Popham in 1866. They were married at St George, Grenada on the 10th of April. [4]

He served at the Siege of Eshowe in Natal by the Zulu Army for two months in 1879. [5]

Charles died at Upper Norwood on the 2nd of October 1909.[2] His death was registered at Camberwell. [6]
