- 1880 Mooers, Clinton, NY: Joseph Peat 24 (laborer), wife Elizabeth 22, and 3 children: Joseph 6, Elizabeth 4, & William 2 months.

- 1900 Ludlow, Hampden, MA: Joseph Petee 44 (carder/hemp mill), wife of 27 years Eliza 42. They have had 11 children, with 9 still living. The youngest are still at home: Peter 16, Jennie 14, Mitchell 13, Tofeal 5, & Marceline 1. Daughter Celestin 18 is living with them, with her husband of 2 years Amos Benway 19. As the children are all listed as born in New York, it's possible the move to Massachusetts is fairly recent.

- 1910 Killingly, Windham, CT: Joseph Peat 54, wife of 36 years Elizabeth 53, and children Mella 17, Tulbets 16, Mitchell 23 & his wife of 2 years Lottie 19 with their child Mitchell 14 months. Also 2 boarders.

- 1920 Mooers, Clinton, NY: on Joe Pete Road: Joseph Pete 63 (farmer), wife Elizabeth 61, and grandson Leonard 5.
