He married Anne (Gaskin) Peck on the 1 September 1866 in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. Ann was his 1st cousin - his mother and Ann's father were brother and sister. ^[2]They had about eleven children;

Death

Charles passed away on the 27 May 1901 at Dannevirke, Tararua District, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand. age 62 .^[3] He was buried on the 28 May 1901 in the Settlers Cemetery in Dannevirke, in the Tararua District, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand. ^[4]
