Robert was born in Banham, Norfolk about 1827 to John and Frances (Sparrow) Peck.[1][2] In 1850 he married Rachel Bird Roberts in Old Buckenham.[3] They had five children together before Rachel died in 1867. In 1868, he married Charlotte Potter in Lakenham,[4] and they had a son together, Barnabas Peck.
Robert died in 1873. According to his death certificate, the cause of death was "drowning and suffocation accidentally caused by deceased being thrown from his coach into a ditch of water which [coach] fell and laid upon the deceased".[5]
