Bruce Pedersen, of Eugene passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 64 years old from complications of Lymphoma cancer. Bruce was born in Olympia, WA to Theodore and Verna Pedersen. He was a 1967 graduate of Olympia High School. Bruce's career as a radio Disc Jockey brought him to Oregon in the mid-1970's, and he spent many years living between WA and Oregon while he continued his radio career. Bruce also worked as a Private Investigator, and had his own security patrol business for several years in addition to working in radio.

In late, 1980's he moved to Medford, OR and had a career change to the Hospitality industry and spent about 15 years managing hotels in the Medford, Eugene and Corvallis areas. Several years ago Bruce returned to his original career choice of broadcasting, and worked for, KVAL TV in the master control department. Bruce was employed with KVAL at the time of death, and said working there was the highlight of all.

Bruce was active in Ham Radio, and enjoyed his computer, playing golf, a good cigar, and a cat! He also loved old black and white movies from the so-called, “Golden Age of Hollywood”. Bruce loved traveling and his favorite places to visit was the desert and British Columbia.

He was a kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Terri, who he met and wed in Medford, OR, in 1997. Bruce is also survived by his 3 children: Melissa Blessum and her husband, Jeff, of Spanaway, WA; Rance Pedersen and his wife, Tammy, of Kent, WA; and Rose Zytnik, and her husband, Alex of Phoenix, AZ. Bruce is also survived by his step-daughter, Tricia Carey and her husband, Wade, of Newport, OR. Bruce is survived by 9 grandchildren: Justin Pedersen, James Sharpe, Nichole Blessum, Jason Perdue, Danielle Pedersen, Joshua Blessum, Shaylee Carey, Cole Carey, and Katie Carey. He is survived by sisters: Sandra Vaughn of Indiana and Karen Pedersen of Olympia, WA, and a brother, Erik Pedersen. Lastly, he is survived by his loving cats, Ralphie and Chloe.
