Jens Peter Pederson was born in Denmark the son of Peter Kjaerulff and Maren Poulsdatter. He emigrated to the US in 1875. On July 3, 1880 he married Kristine Eleanore Miller. Of this union there were 9 children. Jens died in 1922 and was survived by his wife and his children: 5 daughters - Minnie Sage, Alvilde Peterson, Ellen Peterson, Laura Nordahl and Mrs A.J. Moore; and 4 sons George (Tillie), Theodore, Christopher (Elvina), and Laurence (Elma) Peterson.
From Karen Callahan, a Great Granddaughter of Jens and Christina Peterson To explain the different spellings of the last name: The sons in the family use the spelling of Peterson and the daughters used the spelling of Petersen. It is unknown why they did this, as "sen" is the usual Danish spelling.
Jens was born in 1847. He passed away in 1922.
