Biography

Hans Herman Pedersen, 87, of Trout Creek, left this world to join his Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2004, at his home after a brief fight with cancer. He was born on May 18, 1916, in Keuterville, Idaho to Matt and Marie (Benson) Pedersen. When Hans was 1-year-old, his parents moved him along with his five sisters to Circle where they stayed and ranched until 1948. From Circle they moved to Trout Creek, where he would make his final home.

On December 29, 1956, he married Helen Jerrel Eaton in Polson. Hans worked at Brown's Mill in Thompson Falls as a millwright from 1955 until he retired in 1980. As well as working at the mill, he enjoyed his cows and his ranch. Hans worked hard all of his life. He enjoyed country music, reading and watching westerns while eating his mints. Hans was one person who really knew how to enjoy his retirement and embrace life. Up until three years ago he was actively involved in the farming on his land; even after that there was no doubt about him still being the boss. His friends and family meant everything to him. We loved him and will miss him greatly. Hans ("Bud") will be missed for his sense of humor and love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen; four sisters; and a brother. Hans is survived by two sisters, Marie Duval of Trout Creek and Lillian Krebs of Ronan; a daughter, Judy Miller (special Friend, John) of Brewster, Kan.; a son, Orville (Lynne) Eaton of Trout Creek; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at the Trout Creek Community Church. Burial will follow at Whitepine Cemetery. Bunch-Toews Chapels of Plains & Thompson Falls are in charge of the arrangements. [2]
