Violet was born on 18 August 1906 in Warwick, Queensland.[1] She is the daughter of John Peel and Elizabeth Haig.

RUSTON—PEEL. A wedding of interest to a wide circle of friends on the Downs was celebrated at St. Andrew's Church, West-street, on Saturday morning. The bride was Miss Violet Peel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Peel. Muir-street, Toowoomba, and the bridegroom, Mr. Herbert Ruston, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Ruston, Warwick.
