Mary was born in Marsden, Lancashire, England, on December 6, 1851. She was the daughter, and one of nine children of John Peel, and Betty Stowell She was Baptized on March 28, 1852 at the parish church in Marsden. Mary married Robert Raynes at Saint John the Evangelist Church, Great Marsden, on October 15, 1878. There do not appear to be any children from this marriage. Mary passed away on January 26, 1922, in Nelson, Lancashire. Her personal effects were left to brother, John Peel, Blacksmith.
