William Peel was born in Yorkshire, England.

William was born in Dewsbury, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, on April 3, 1875. He was the son of Edwin Peel and Mary Unknown, and one of at least six children. He was enumerated in the 1881 through 1901 census residing with his family in Dewsbury.

William married Clara Martha Poole on December 9, 1902, in Dewsbury, at the Ebeneezer Chapel. The couple would have at least three children. William passed away in 1939. His death was registered in the first quarter in Spen Valley.
