Elizabeth Peeler was born October 2, 1886 in Humphrey, Tennessee to father Eli E. Peeler of Humphrey, Tennessee and mother Nellie James of Humphrey, Tennessee.^[1]

Lizzie Peeles was enumerated as stepdauter of the head of household in Civil Districts 9, 14, Humphreys County, Tennessee for the June 15, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as at school, born October 1886 in Tennessee and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head John M Smith, wife Nellie Smith, daughter Lena Smith, daughter Bertie Smith, daughter Tommie Smith, son John Smith, cousin Rhoda Perry, stepson Barnett Peeles, stepson Herbert Peeles and stepson James Peeles.^[2]
