Elizabeth Peer was born about 1772, daughter of Philip Peer and grew up in the Cedar Creek Valley, Shenandoah County, Virginia, She married Thomas Swayney (Swainey) in 1798 (his second wife) and lived in the Cedar Creek Valley her entire life. Elizabeth had one daughter before her marriage to Swayne and they had two daughters. She was age 78 and living with her oldest daughter, Elizabeth and son-in-law, John Orndorff, in 1850 but a death date has not been determined. Thomas Swainey died in 1824. The same chancery records list the following heirs of Thomas Swainey:
