I think the birth name would have to edited to get that to change. I found it spelled without the "B" in Annals of Tazewell County, Virginia, pg 510, when I originally made the profile. Did not find the marriage record in the marriage section on pg 53, until several years later, and failed to notice the spelling difference. Census also shows Tomlin, which I would think is a matter of interpretation by the person entering the information into the record at that time, of the citizen's spoken word.
I would tend to believe the marriage license spelling, over the published book printing, but have no way of knowing for sure. Just as in Isam's bio, it lists the last name of Mary's brother & father spelled Perry, when it was Peery, from the History of the War of 1812.
Probably need some other documentation of the correct spelling of the last name before changing the profile reference permanently. I did change his last "current" name to include the B just now.
You posted that you had attached pge 53 showing their marriage. I cannot see that here on Mary's record, only her parents' family bible pages showing their children's births.
Mary Polly Peery-252, b. 3/20/1793, is d/o John Distiller Peery-131 & Deborah Kidd-114 & married Isam Tomblinson (Tomlinson-760) on 10/12/1809, per the Annals of Tazewell Co, Marriages Section, Pg 53. When we were in Tazewell couple of years ago, found this marriage showing her married name is Tomblinson (not Tomlin). I tried to correct his last name to Tomblinson & it corrected the name on the profile, but left it referenced under Tomlinson (no B). Not sure how to get that to change.
Ive attached pg 53 showing their marriage from the Annals of Tazewell Co, VA, Marriages Section, for your records.
