Ellen was born on 21 July 1859 in FooChow (now Fuzhou), Fujian, China to missionaries Rev. Lyman Burt Peet and his second wife, Hannah Louisa (Plimpton) Peet [later Hartwell].
Ellen (known as Nellie) was a graduate of Mount Holyoke Seminary (now College), a private liberal arts women's college in South Hadley, Massachusetts, United States in 1883.
She married Rev. George Henry Hubbard on the 24th July, 1884 in West Haven, Connecticut, United States.
Nellie passed away on the 14th February 1925 at her home at Diong-loh Urban District, Fuzhou, Fujian, China. [1]. She was buried at Foo-Chow Mission Cemetery, Fuzhou, Fujian, China. [2]
While Nellie was interred at Fuzhou, Fujian, China, there is also a memorial and gravestone for her and her husband at Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. [3]
