Josiah Wheelock Peet was born in 1808 in Benson, Vermont.
Josiah graduated from Middlebury College, Vermont. He became a Congregational minister; in 1864, he relocated to Adair County, Iowa.[1] He lived in Richland in 1880.[2]
Josiah preached, built churches, was county superintendent of schools one term. He moved to Prescott, and then to Monticello, where he died in 1892.
