Melinda was born between 1866-1869 (various years listed on census reports) in New York to Charles and Mary Peete. She is listed with her parents on both: the 1870 Census[1] and the 1880 Census[2] as single and residing in St. Lawrence, New York. The 1900 Census estimates that she was married in 1884 (marriage record needed) and she is listed on that census report with her husband Gilbert Currier.[3] She is not listed with Gilbert on the 1910 Census. In 1910 she is listed with two children (Willis and Floyd) in the home of her parents.[4] Willis married Maude Thompson in 1920 and that record estimates that he was born in 1898.[5] Her son Floyd married Hazel E Larrabee in June of 1927 and his birth year is estimated on that record as 1904.[6]
Melinda is also listed on the 1930 Census[7] before her death in January of 1937 in which she is estimated to be 68 years old.[8] Melinda is buried in Fort Jackson Hopkinton Cemetery in Hopkinton, St. Lawrence County, New York[9]
