Anecdotally, via his son, Alexander Pell, William Munro Pell travelled to the West coast of Tasmania as a young man to work in the mines there in Linda and Queenstown. He lost contact with his siblings as the area was remote with poor communications. He wife, Emily Mary Ramsay worked at a hotel in Queenstown .
