John Pember was born to John and Mary (Hyde) Pember on 16 October 1719 in Norwich Township, New London, Connecticut.
His family had moved up through Lebanon and Stafford, far into the country. There are recorded land deeds for John Pember in the area of Stafford; some may be for this John Pember, rather than his father.
He returned to Norwich before 1750 and married Irene Wood of Windham 22 March 1749.  He lived on Birchard's Plains the rest of his life.
His will was dated 1 May 1767 and was probated 16 June 1767 (Volume 2, page 28 of the probate records). There are also records of guardians being appointed for Eli, Ireney and Andrew when they reached the age of consent.
