Richard Henry Penberthy was born in Sandhurst ( now Bendigo) Victoria in 1877. He was the son of James Penberthy and his wife Elizabeth Hall[1]
He grew up in the mining area of Sandhurst and Long Gully. His father James Penberthy died in a mining accident in 1886 when Dick was 9 years old
Richard Henry Penberthy married Annie McGregor in Victoria in 1916[2]
He died in Essendon in 1952. [3]
