Richard "Dick" Pearl Charles Pence was born on April 4, 1897,[1] in Garden Grove, Iowa.[2] He was living in Des Moines, Iowa, when he registered for the World War I draft. He died on October 25, 1948, at the age of 51, and was buried in Wichita, Kansas.[3]
