Biography

Mary A. Penn was born on 10 January 1865, in Pennsylvania, to Samuel Able Penn and Sarah A (unknown family name). [1] [2]

In 1880, she was living with her parents and siblings on Tacony Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a cartridge maker. [2]

She married Harry [or Henry?] A Headley, about 1883/1884. [1] They apparently had ten children, including: [2] [3] [4]

In 1900, she and Henry were living at 5137 Jackson Street, ward 23, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his and their children. She was not working outside the house. [3]

In 1910, she and Henry were living at 2674 Sepviva Street, ward 31, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his and their children. She was not working outside the house. [4]

In 1920, she and Harry were living at 2626 [?] {street name?}, which they were renting, with two children. She was not working outside the house. [5]

In 1930, she and Charles Headley were living at 852 Ontario Street, with her daughter Mabel and Mabel's family. She was not working outside the house. [6]

On 17 October 1939, she died, in Philadelphia General Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of cerebral arteriosclerosis and diabetes mellitus. On 20 October 1939, she was buried, in Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in section Memorial "B", lot 281, with her husband and his two children from his first marriage.
