Biography

The Last Will and Testament of Philip Penn says: “Secondly, I bequeath and give to my Sons George, Wilson & Gabriel, each one Shilling, also to my Daughters Fanny Fulcher, Lucy Hanna, Milly Ross, Scintha Sneed, and Nancy Taylor, each one Shilling.”[1]

Research Notes

  • There were two different dates of death and locations on the merges profiles. The Virginia location appears to be correct given the citation for his Will above, but a source was not provided for either date:
    • 31 Jul 1806 in Virginia
    • 1761 in Georgia

Philip was born about 1739. He passed away about 1806.

Penn-623 and Penn-551 appear to represent the same person because: Hello, profile managers!

These two profiles have been set as an Unmerged Match since Nov 2018.

Other than the death information, they look like they might be matches, but there are no sources present to determine which date and location of death is accurate.

Does any of you have information that can help sort out this discrepancy??

Thank you!

Julie

Penn-623 and Penn-551 are not ready to be merged because: These two Phillip Penns may be the same person but due to the completely different death date and the lack of any information on father, mother, spouse and children I can't confirm that these are the same individual.

Penn-623 and Penn-551 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be duplicates. The dates of death are different; however, neither of them has documentation on either date. Could you take a look and determine what the proper dates are? Thank you!
