Biography

Mary was born about 1854, in Pennsylvania, to Enoch Albertson and Ann Eliza Hunt. [1]

In 1860, she was living with her parents in ward 23, Philadelphia. [1]

On 20 May 1899, her mother said that she depended on Mrs Mary E Barnett, whom she had lived with for 20 years, and had no one legally obligated to support her. [2]

    22 Jan 1902: Ann Eliza Penn, 5926 Thompson St, swore that they weren't married before, that she didn't know anyone who could provide evidence, that she had no income, and was entire dependent on others for her support, and that she knows of no life insurance on her husband

    4 March 1902: Enoch's sister Emma Partenheimer, post office address 'Wissinoming or 4806 Paschall Ave West Phila', swore that Enoch Penn was the Enoch Albertson who died on 30 Apr 1899, and was buried from 2016 S. 9th St
    2 April 1902: Emma Partenheimer, 4806 Paschall Ave, swore that she attended Enoch A M Penn's funeral on 7 May 1899, knew that was her brother, who also went by 'Enoch Albertson' ('Albertson' being one of his middle names), assumed to escape the master to whom he was indentured to learn shoemaking; not friendly when he assumed marital relations with a another woman while he was alive; saw him when their mother was dying (after a long time of not seeing him); their mother wanted her to treat him kindly; about his military service know only what he told me
    8 April 1902: Frances Gardiner, 842 Sears Street Philadelphia (9th street below Wharton) swore that her husband Alexander Gardiner couldn't reply because he died on 13 Dec 1901 , but she knew Enoch Albertson well, and knew that he also went by 'Enoch A M Penn'; he once told her he was going to see his relatives who had a store about 19th and South, and when she said 'why that is Penn's store', he said he went by both names; she was passing the Jones Hotel on Chestnut Street above 6th in 1862 and saw him as he was going to the recruiting office for the 119th PA
    Ann Eliza Penn, widow of Enoch A M Penn, last paid at a rate of $8 per month through 4 November 1902, was dropped from the pension rolls because she died
    on 23 Oct 1911, Lucy Albertson, 66, 911 WInton St Philadelphia, applied for a pension under the Act of 19 April 1908
    'I have had 7 children by him, but about 1880 he informed me that he had once lived with another woman before our marriage in 1861. I lived with him continuously as wife from 1861 until the time of his death. The other woman died about 10 or 11 years ago.' 4 living children.

Albertson-1219 and Penn-834 appear to represent the same person because: Their birth years and father's make clear they're the same person. See their father's profile for the different in family names. I screwed up, creating a new profile instead of editing the existing one.
