from Find A Grave citation below: Physician and public official. In 1793 he married Ethan Allen's widow Fanny. They moved from Westminster, Vermont to the Allen farm in Burlington, though debts they incurred while improving the farm later forced them to return to Westminster. In 1803 he was appointed US Customs Collector for Vermont and his family relocated to Swanton. During the War of 1812 the Pennimans moved from Swanton and lived in Burlington and Colchester. Penniman served as Colchester Town Clerk and Chittenden County Probate Judge.
