Allie Mae Pennington Sloas

Birth: Dec. 25, 1898, USA

Death: Nov. 18, 1989

Allie Mae Pennington Sloas, 90, of Willard, died Saturday morning in St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead after a long illness. She was born Dec. 25, 1898, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Levi and Victoria Hylton Pennington. She was a member of the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church. Her husband John Willie Sloas, died in 1978. Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Whitt and Mary Ison of Sandy Hook and Ruth Thomas of Willard; four sons, Johnny Sloas of Webbville, Lowell Sloas of Grayson Elwood Sloas of Falkville, Ala., and Leroy Sloas of Paint Lick, Ky; 38 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Malone Funeral Home by the Rev. Russell Griffith. burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after 3 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time on Monday.
