James Emanuel Michael Hennigan next married Verretta Pennington. Verretta is buried in Hennigan Cemetery was reared by John Yawn and Candis Dickerson Yawn. It was said her father went on a trip and never returned. Old timers in Merryville say Verretta father was a tinker and when he went on long trips he would leave her until his return. For some unforeseen reason he never returned from this trip and Verretta married J.E.M. in 1890. Verretta was born June 8 1874 and died March 13 1958 in Merryville, La. Children of this marriage were (1) Lesson Quincy Hennigan born Feb. 20, 1893 in Merryville, La. and married A. Louis Musgrove who was born Texas in 1888 on Oct. 1, 1910. Children of Louis and Quincy were James Robert born 1911, Lois born 1912, Mary Irene born 1915, and William Michael born 1918. (2) Curvency (Curry) Hennigan born Aug. 6, 1894 in Merryville, La. and died Jan. 22 1968. Curry married John Wesley Bean born 1884 and died 1919. Child of this marriage was Lettie Ruth Bean born 1916 and died 1985. Lettie Ruth married Paul M. Thomas born 1915 and died 1995. Child of this marriage was Kathi Thomas. Curry also was married to Thomas C. Riggs born 1882 and died 1955. Child of this marriage was Thomas S. Riggs born Apr. 25, 1914 in Merryville, La., and died Nov. 4, 1984. (3) Mae Gary Hennigan born March 26, 1896 and died Sep. 22, 1981. Mae Gary married William Rachal born Dec. 10, 1882 and died Oct. 1, 1960. Two children I have of this marriage born 1914 and 1916 died as infants. Other child was Tito Requena Rachal born Feb. 21 1936 and died Mar. 31 1974. (4) Culva (or Culvey) Hennigan born Feb. 18, 1898 in Merryville, La., and died Jan. 3, 1977 in Deridder, Beauregard Parish, La. and buried in Hennigan Cemetery married James Edgar Cornes born Nov. 27, 1889 in Panola County Tx., and died July 25, 1979 in Merryville, and buried in Hennigan Cemetery. James was a son of Thomas Jefferson Cornes born July 3, 1863 in probably Wayne County VA. and Georgia Ann Barnes born 1871 in Jasper County, TX. Children of this marriage are; (a) Georgia Vivian Cornes born April 11 1921 and died Oct. 24 1984. Georgia married Oscar Baggett born Feb. 7 1923 and died Oct. 26 1975. (b) Eddie Lavera Cornes born Dec. 5 1927 and died in the 1980’s married Troy Norwood. (c) Edgar Milton Cornes born Dec. 5 1927 and died March 1 1990 married Catherine Sanders. Edgar was a twin to Eddie Lavera. (d) Johnnie Faye Cornes born Sept. 7 1930 and married Samuel David Stark on May 24 1947. (e) Mary Ellen Cornes born after 1932 and married Lloyd T. Nash. (5) N.V. Hennigan born Dec. 25 1900 and died Mar. 12 1928. She married Everett Creel born 1886 and died 1946. N.V. (also seen name as Envy) died as complications from giving birth to twins. Only one of the twins survived, being Wallace Creel born Mar. 12 1928. Wallace married Alice R. Davis born April 29 1933. Wallace Creel died Feb. 26 1986 and is buried in Meadows Cemetery in Beauregard Parish along with his mother N.V., and his father Everett Creel. (6) Albert L. (Bert) Hennigan(twin) was born May 31 1904 and died Mar 21 1978 in Merryville La. and buried in Hennigan Cemetery. Bert married Tobitha Jane (Jo)Springer born July 22 1913. Tobitha was the daughter of Thomas Bertram Springer born Sept. 21 1882 in Bryan Texas and Sarah Florence Strahan born Mar. 4 1882 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Thomas was a son of Henry Springer and Georgia Ann Springer. Henry Springer was an immigrant from Germany. Sarah Florence Strahan was a daughter of Matthew Strahan born Jan. 23 1859 in Nacogdoches County, Texas and Nancy Jane Springer (cannot find any relationship in these 2 Stringer families) born Feb. 4 1860 in probably La. Nancy Jane was a daughter of John Springer and Sarah E. Bennett of Arkansas. Siblings of Tobitha Jane Stringer were Zeffie Irene Iola, Ettie Pearl, Annie Donnie, Matthew Clark, and J.T. Springer. Tobitha Jane Springer first married Troy H. Rhodes March 1 1930 in Timpson, Shelby County, Texas, and divorced 1947. One child(Foy Wayne Rhodes) was born to this marriage. This was Bert Hennigans first marriage and he adopted Foy. (7) Alvin (Alva) Hennigan was a twin to Bert and born May 31 1904 in Calcasieu Parish. Alva died June 4 1961 in Salinas Ca. He married Lola Mildred Pepper, and children were Charles Lanier Hennigan, and Linda Hennigan. He is buried in Garden of Memories Cemetery, as is she, in Salinas, CA. She has no headstone, but I will include his in this letter. (8) Next child was Mollie (Mole) born December 27 1905 in Merryville, Beauregard Parish, La. Mollie married Julian Guillory, children Jacob Michael Guillory born Feb. 3 1937 and died Oct. 1987 in Houston Texas. Others were Gordon Gooth Guillory, Juliana Grier Guillory, Ben Guillory, and Derriel Lewis Guillory. (9) Clovie Hennigan was last child of J.E.M. and Veretta . Clovie was born April 28 1907, and married Juan Louis Requena first and married Jose Ortiz.

Relatives of this lineage dispute Verrettas surname being Pennington and their autosomal DNA shows they have Dickerson ancestors meaning Verretta could actually be a Dickerson from John Leroy Dickersons' infideldity before marriage.
