James Bush Pennington better known as Jim Pennington was born in Miller County, Georgia in 1894. He married Lena Lee Spires in 1917. He served in World War I and had his leg amputated at the ankle due to a noncombatant injury. Although no record has yet been found his first son Hilton died soon after birth. After the birth of three more children he relocated his family to Tavares, Lake County, Florida in 1924. He operated a filling station and garage on the Dora Canal. Jim Pennington moved to Leesburg, Florida in approximately 1935. He was an avid fisherman. He passed away in. July 1945.
