Birth

Jesse was born in 23 August 1883 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England.

His birth was registered in West Bromwich in the September quarter 1883.^[1] From General records office database we know his mother's name was SEDGLEY.

In 1891 Jesse was living with his family in Smethwick on Dartmouth Road. Father William HJ Pennington, mother Mary Ann, and siblings; Eliza Jane Pennington (aged 9), William H (aged 6), Samuel (2) and Edith (infant).^[2]

In 1901 Jesse and family were living on St George's Street in Smethwick. Even aged 17 Jesse was employed as Hammer Driver.

In 1911 Jesse was married with a young son Jesse, and now a professional footballer.

Marriage

Jesse Pennington married Nellie Florence Shuttlewoth in St Cuthbert's Church, Winson Green, Birmingham on 19 February 1906.^[3] Her father was Harry Shuttleworth a brass finisher. Witnesses were Frank Shuttleworth, Eliza Pennington, George Matthews, and Florence Shuttleworth.

In 1939 Jesse and Nellie are living in Stourport on Severn.

Death

Jesse died 5 September 1970 in Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire. He was living at 3 Hazledene, Tartlebury Park Estate, Stourport on Severn. ^[4]
