Nathaniel Pennington moved to Red Creek, Tucker County, W. Va., about 1861 (Fansler, supra at 69). He later owned river bottom land at Hendricks in 1884 (Fansler, supra at 358). He and his wife, Susan Carr, had thirteen children, including Nathaniel Jason Pennington, b. 19 Mar. 1865, m. Lucretia Jane Flanagan, 17 Sept. 1883, d. 8 Aug. 1944.
