Biography

The daughter of Daniel Pennock Sr and Lucy (Benjamin) Pennock, Caroline Pennock was born in Rushford Township, New York[citation needed] in 1827. She migrated with her family migrated to Michigan shortly after statehood was granted.[citation needed]

Caroline married Alexander W Minar, the son of William Minar and Ann L. Welson, his second wife, marrying in Cooper Township, Michigan in Kalamazoo County, on May 3, 1846,[1] having five known children together:

  1. Willis Minar (1850-1915)
  2. Willard Alexander Minar (1850-1922)
  3. Frank William Minar (1856-1913)
  4. Clarissa Belle Minar (1862-1944)
  5. Edgar E. Minar (1868-1948)

They made their home in Cooper Township, Michigan, in Kalamazoo County, where her husband worked as a clothier.[2] By 1860, they had moved to Gun Plain Township, Michigan, in Allegan County, farming.[3][4][5]

Widowed in 1891, Caroline Minar passed away in Gun Plain Township, Michigan[6] at the age of 70 and is buried at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell Township, Michigan.[7]
