James does not appear to have married or had children as his will mentions only his brothers and nephews.[2][3]
James Penny died around May 1803 when his will was proved.[2]
Footnotes:
↑Will-Penny-1339 This James is by definition the one from Edward Penny's will. The birthdate is a guess based on 1740 for Caleb and assuming birth order as listed in the will.
↑ Some trees show that James is father of Jesse Penny m. Sarah Lupo/Leeps => more research required. Perhaps James was merely estranged from his family at death.
