A.D. one thousand nine hundred and six personally appeared before me, a Justice of Peace within and for the county and state aforesaid, Sofe Louise V. Davis, aged 34 years, a resident of near Underwood, County of Clark State of Indiana, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration inorder to optain the pension which had accrued her husband, named below, at the time of his death. That she is the widow of Milton Davis who served as Priv in Co. D., 4 Ind. Cav. War '61 to '65 and who was a pensioner of the United States by certificate 492057, on the roll of the Pension Agency at Indianapolis, Ind; that the last payment of his pension was made to the 4th day of Aug, 1906; that he died on the 27th day of October, 1906. That she was married under the name of Sofe Louise V. Davis to said pensioner at Underwood, Ind on the 29 day of October 1904 by Alex F. Neville J.P.; that there was no legal barrier to marriage; that she had been once previously married; that the soldier had once previously been married. Soldiers wife died July 12, 1887; Claimants Husband died Sept 6, 1904. That her post-office address is Underwood, County of Clark, State of Indiana. Attest: (1) Aaron N. Warsman (2) Henry N. Montgomery (applicant's signature) Sofa Louise V. Davis And personally appeared Aaron N. Warsman, residing at Underwood, Ind, and Henry N. Montgomery, residing at Underwood, Ind, persons who I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who, being by me duly sworn, say they were present and saw her, the claimant, sign her name (or make her mark) to the foregoing declaration; and that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with her of Twenty years and Two years respectively, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be; and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim.
