Biography

Mary Ann Pentz was born in Sharon MIlls, York Co, Ontario Canada on Oct 24 1864, as handed down in her family records. Her parents were Philip Scott PENTZ and Catherine Ann LUNDY. She married John Wesley BOWDEN in Nov. 1890 in Toronto, York Co, Ontario Canada. They had 6 children, born in various places in Ontario as her husband John Wesley worked in several different flour mills, ending up in West Toronto where they lived at 140 Fairview Ave. Her gravestone in Parklawn Cemetery was visited in 1997 and I noticed the letter "P" on PENTZ has been marked with some kind of white paint to make it looks as if someone has tried to change it to a" B" trying to make the surname "BENTZ". After she died her son George kenneth Bowden lived at 140 Fairview Ave, with his wife and daughter until 1943 when he relocated to Orillia ON.
