On 12 Sep 1918, Sydney registered for the World War I draft in Cape May County, New Jersey. He listed his occupation as Steam Fitter for W.M. Anderson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and provided the name of his nearest relative as being his wife, Elizabeth P. Peoples, living at 128 W. Andrew Avenue, Wildwood, New Jersey. Sydney's height and build were both listed as "Medium," his eye color "Brown" and his hair color "Dark." [2]
At the time of the 1930 US Census, head of household Sydney W. Peoples (age 51, born in PA) was working as a Service Manager for Tire Sales and living at a home he rented at 3827 Shirley Avenue in Buffalo, Erie, New York with his wife Elizabeth P. Peoples (age 48, born in PA), daughter Dorothy M. Peoples (age 27, born in PA), daughter Mildred E. Peoples (age 22, born in PA), and mother Mary J. Peoples (age 78, born in PA). Sydney was 24 years old when first married, and Elizabeth was 20 years old when first married; both of Sydney's parents were born in Pennsylvania, and both of Elizabeth's parents were born in Pennsylvania. Mary J. Peoples was 21 years old when first married, and both of her parents were born in Pennsylvania. [3]
He passed away at 80 years of age in 1958. Sydney is buried at Flagler Memorial Park, Miami, Florida. [4]
