Biography
Early Life
Richard was born on 22 September 1882[1] in Kingston, Surrey, England, the son of Henry Pepperrell, a Labourer, and Phoebe Raggat. The birth was registered in Q4 1882[2]. Richard, and his younger brother George, were baptised on 2 January 1885 in St John's in Kingston, Surrey.[3] In the 1891 England Census, enumerated on 5 April, Richard (age 9) was the son of Henry Pepperrell in Kingston, Surrey, England.[4]
The household was enumerated as Henry Pepperrell (age 34), wife Phoebe Pepperrell (age 27), son Richard Pepperrell (age 9), son George Pepperrell (age 7), son Shadrick Pepperrell (age 4), son Henry Pepperrell (age 9m), and boarder Emily Ede (age 17).
Family
Richard married Maud Cheeseman in 1908 in Kingston, Surrey.[5] They had two children together before Maud passed away.
Richard (age 32), a widower, married Elizabeth McClaron (age 32), a spinster, after Banns on 15 September 1912 at Christ Church, Surbiton, Surrey, England with H. Pepperrell and P. Pepperrell as witnesses and E. Swanson, vicar. Both Richard and Elizabeth were listed as living at 8 Howard's Road, Surbiton at the time.[6][7] They had two children together.

In the 1921 Census of England & Wales, enumerated 19 June, Richard (age 38), a Coal Carman (Out Of Work), was the married head of household at 17 St Mary's Road, Surbiton, Surrey, England.[8]
The household was enumerated as Richard Pepperrell (38), wife Elizabeth Pepperrell (40), son George Pepperrell (8), and daughter Phoebe Pepperrell (7).
In the 1939 Register, enumerated 29 September, Richard (age 56), Builders Labourer, was recorded as married at 17 St Mary's Road, Surbiton, Surrey, England.[1]
The household was enumerated as Richard Pepperrell (b. 22 Sep 1882), Elizabeth Pepperrell (b. 4 Nov 1878), Phoebe Millis (Pepperrell) (b. 3 Dec 1914), George Mills (Pepperrell) (b. 22 Jan 1931), Charles McClarran (b. 26 Oct 1870) and Charles Knight (b. 18 Sep 1879).
Death
Richard died (age 74) on 5 August 1957 at 26 Wolverton Avenue (believed to be Kingston Hospital) of Cerebral Thrombosis, certified by C.M. Jadwat M.R.C.S. The death was registered by the deceased's widow, E.M. Pepperrell, of 29 Hamilton Avenue, Tolworth on 6 Aug 1957, Registrar Gladys Bryett.[9][10]
