Thanks, regards, Margaret, Categorization project.
The parent category depends on the type of category, is it part of a one name study? Or is it a category to track your own profiles for personal research? Then it would be a personal category and be named differently. Or is it for some other purpose?
If you let me know it's purpose, then we can look at what the parent category would be.
Regards, Margaret
We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.
Have you ever considered participating in one of WikiTree's Connect-A-Thons? It's a great opportunity to add new profiles, whether they are extended family members or someone who fits into your One Place project. The next one will run from Friday, April 22nd to Monday, April 25th.
I want to personally invite you to join the Mid-Atlantic Team because of your interest in Bachman Valley, Maryland and your family roots in Pennsylvania. If you are interested in participating, you can sign up in the G2G forum registration post (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1392037) and add another badge to your collection. Hope you'll consider joining the fun!

Thanks for creating the pre-1700 profile John Thornley (abt.1670-).
Please try to provide at least a birth or death location guess rather than leaving both locations blank. This helps disambiguate people since we have a global tree, locations help distinguish one profile of the same name from another. Even a guess such as a continent, e.g., Europe, is better than blank. Please read more here. You can explain the rationale for your guess in a = = Research Notes = = section.
For example, in the case of John, based upon his son, I'd guess he was born in England.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The England Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
