Nancy Percifield is the presumed daughter of Gilbert Percifield and Sally (Spires) Percifield, however, the relationship is not proven. In fact, another Nancy Percifield, born in Kentucky, is also connected to Gilbert and Sally Percifield, who lived In Kentucky.
Nancy married Charles Reagan, marrying in 1858 and having five known children together. They made their home in 1860 in Grainger County, Tennessee.[1] Nancy Reagan was widowed during the Civil War and applied for a widow's pension on October 23, 1865.[2]
She lived in Civil District 13 with her four surviving children; her oldest son, George, worked at the age of 12 as farm laborer.[3] In 1880, Nancy's household in Civil District 13 included her widowed father-in-law, Jesse Reagan.[4]
Nancy Reagan passed away around the age of 80 and is buried at Cabbage Cemetery in Washburn, Tennessee.[5]
