WILLIAM DE FERRERS, Knt., 3rd Lord Ferrers of Groby, son and heir, born and baptized at Newbold Verdon, Leicestershire 28 Feb. 1332/3. He married (1st) before 25 April 1344 MARGARET DE UFFORD. William married (2nd) before 25 May 1368 MARGARET DE PERCY, widow of Robert de Umfreville, Knt. (living 1340, died before 1347), of Pallethorp and Hessle, Yorkshire, and daughter of Henry de Percy, Knt., 2nd Lord Percy, of Alnwick, Northumberland, Topcliffe, Yorkshire, etc., by Idoine, daughter of Robert de Clifford, Knt., 1st Lord Clifford, SIR WILLIAM DE FERRERS, 3rd Lord Ferrers of Groby, died at Stebbing, Essex 8 Jan. 1370/1. He left a will dated 1 June 1368, proved 19 July 1372, requesting burial in the conventual church at Ulverscroft, Leicestershire. His widow, Margaret, died testate a Gyng (now Buttsbury), Essex 2 Sept. 1375, and was presumably buried in the Church of the Friars Preachers at Chelmsford, Essex.
