Dewey L. PERDUE was born on 2 July 1898 in Wayne County, West Virginia.[1] He was the son of Robert Lee PERDUE and Mary RUTHERFORD.

Note: He was mistakenly listed as the son of his grandparents in the 1900 United States Federal Census record,[2] but his birth record clearly stated he was the son of Lee and Mary Perdue.
