Biography

Filomena Perez is the 5th of 11 children born to Eduardo Perez and San Juana Lopez.

Obituary -

Filomena P. Salinas, 92, a longtime resident of Freer, Texas, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002 in a San Diego nursing home after a sudden illness.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Freer, Texas and she loved to sing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Salinas; two sons, Amando Salinas and Ricardo Salinas and a son-in-law, Juan Campos.

Filomena is survived by her two sons, Alberto (Maria) Salinas of Cherokee, Oklahoma and Eraclio (Judy) Salinas of Van Clever, Mississippi; three daughters: Lupe Campos of Freer, Texas, Bertha (Hilario) Ortiz of Dallas, Texas and Esther Salinas of Oxnard, California; a brother, Locadio Perez of Freer, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Casas and Francisca Espinoza both of Freer, Texas; a sister-in-law, Cecilia Salinas of Benavides, Texas and 27 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with a Prayer service to be held at 7:00 P.M. that same evening. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2002 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with Pastor Valentine Sepulveda officiating. Burial will follow at the Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
