Biography

Elizabeth Perkins, daughter of James Perkins and Judith Whitlow, was born 28 Nov 1769 and baptized 18 Feb 1770 [/1][ at St James Northam Parish, Goochland, Virginia.[1]]

Elizabeth married Jordon Whitlow about 1790 in Green County and between 1796 and 1810 they had 9 known children, all born in North Carolina. Jordon died before May 1816 proven by Elizabeth Whitlow appearing alone on the Green County, Kentucky Tax Lists in 1816.

Elizabeth was in Green County by June 1814 for the property division of her father's estate. Her mother, Judith Perkins, was Executrix of the Estate. Legatees mentioned were: Judith Perkins, Martha Morgans (late Perkins), Abraham Perkins, Elizabeth Whitlow (late Perkins), Jesse Perkins, Richard Perkins, Henry Perkins, John Perkins, Joseph Dobson, and Peter Elmore. She received a 100 acre tract on Brush Creek.

Although Elizabeth is on the tax lists of Green County, Kentucky, I have been unable to find her on any later census in Kentucky, North Carolina, or Indiana where her sons Jordan and Alfred were living. Elizabeth may have been living with one of the children and was not enumerated. The last living record found was 1834 when she sold her land in Green County with her son John.

Elizabeth died after 1833 and perhaps after 1836.
