Lucy was born in 1834 to Joseph Perkins and Elizabeth Babson. In 1850, she was living with her parents in Penobscot, Maine.[1] She married William Bowden, her first cousin, in Penobscot in 1859.[2] They shared grandparents Abraham Perkins and Hannah Leach. In 1880, William and Lucy were living in Bucksport with children Carrie and William.[3] She died of tuberculosis in 1901.[4]
