Note NI0029Joshua was born in Numulgi and was only 6 years old when his father died. He moved to Alstonville with his mother, Harriet, brothers and sisters. his schooling would have been in Alstonville. 1 Joshua served in the Great War in 52 Bn in Belguim at the Western Front from 21 Sep 1917 until 15 Dec 1917 before being eventually invalided out with a septic right thumb. 1 After the war he moved to Queensland where he met and married Doris Schafer. His occupation was as cream tester at Bulla factories. After his marriage he bought a small farm which he later sold and bought a 600 acre dairy farm on the Burnett River and farmed there for several years. in 1945 he moved to Mundubbera to live. He suffered from cancer for 12 years, making it necessary to spend a lot of his later years in Brisbane, dying in 1964. In 1965 his wife sold the farm for 10,000. Joshua was a good man, well liked by all who knew him. 1 Joshua was buried in the Mundubbera Cemetery.
