Biography
Mrs. Lucy Benning, Fayette Co., Kentucky. Died 28 August 1839 aged 89 years. [1] Lucy Perkins is the wife of James Benning, and the mother of Perkins Benning. Unsourced family trees state that she was born in 1749 in Virginia and died in 1839 in Kentucky.
The Lexington Kentucky Gazette 21 January 1820 p. 1 col. 1: A list of Letters, Remaining in the Post-office in Lexington on the 1st of January 1820, which if not taken out in three months will be sent to the General Post-office as dead letters ... Lucy Benning.
The Lexington Kentucky Gazette 7 September 1837 p. 3 col. 6: Died at her residence in this county, on the 28th ult., Mrs. Lucy Benning, in her 89th year.
