DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Rachel by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Rachel:
I believe either the wrong Sarah Childress is connected as a daughter or there may be an error/missed location to NC. There are several debates over various versions of profiles for a couple by these names...
However- following my direct line to Sarah who DEFINITELY was born and died in what was then Bladen, NC (not near the VA border) and this couple didn't travel that far south according to any sources.
But 2: my biological mother is listed as sharing DNA with this woman and we both share with Sarah...I'm prematurely posting so anyone with better knowledge can save me some time but meanwhile I am going to research further. Thank you for reading and any advice is helpful...especially with the DNA as I can't recall the "accuracy" of the list below. Thanks! Becky Elizabeth
Update: my mother does show up on the barely sourced DNA list for the second husband John but not the first...and prior to this I had not connected any line to this branch and she does not have an active tree on here...
I may adopt the orphaned versions and work on them to either merge or disconnect
Perkins-6442 and Perkins-3189 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles are the same because of the relatives in common. Please merge them.
Perkins-6442 and Perkins-3189 are not ready to be merged because: I am not at all sure that Lucy is the mother of Rachel. I think Elizabeth Cottrell is. And until this is settled I am not willing to merge these two, although I do think they are the same person.
